27. March 2009 [News] There is something as narrow as a festival of overhead storemax art. And now is the time to submit entries for this year's The Art of The Overhead 2009 to be held in Malmö in May.
The overhead is perhaps an overlooked artistic storemax media in these digital times, but it is not completely forgotten. The Art of the Overhead is a festival that celebrates this analogue art form.
It refers to many things. To open an overhead surface. For the 3000 km3 great local shipyard. For the festival's workshop organization. And as an invitation to this year's contributors to take a critical look at concepts like 'open' and 'closed' in the future networked media culture.
Work Categories contributions to the workshop and / or festival should be related to the following categories: Transparencies storemax for The Art of the Overhead Archive (physical or PDF to print out). The archive is a wall-mounted installation where the audience can browse the folders with the works. Installations involving overhead projection, custom-made projectors, digital-analog hybrids and so on. Perfomances involving overhead projection. From the live cinema to good old fashioned conference presentation.
